Knowing God by knowing Jesus

If we are to truly know God, we need to get to know Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God. Hebrews 1:3 says that the Son is the “radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being”. We can’t know God without knowing Jesus and to know Jesus, to truly know Him, is to know salvation by grace.

Jesus died on the cross while we were still sinners in order to wash away our sin so that we might enjoy right standing with God.
We can hear it a thousand times and it never gets old. Jesus did the unthinkable that was undeserved by us so that the unfathomable could be accessible to us. Lord God, I pray that we would never become casual about what you did for us in sending Your Son to die upon that cross!

2 Corinthians 5:21 puts it like this: “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
As a believer, you are the righteousness of God. That means that God looks upon you as righteous – not because of anything you did to earn that and even in spite of all you’ve done to disqualify yourself which is why we can say with confidence that there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Roman 8:1)
We need to get to know our Savior and we need to begin to understand our salvation. He’s has saved us from the curse of sin.
John 3:15 says that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.
We will gain real and eternal life when we believe in Him and in order to do that, we need to know Him and trust in Him.
Do you know Jesus? Are you trusting in Him? Are you believing in Him? If you are, you will not perish. That’s His promise. We have abundant life now and eternal life in store!
